Where it began

Before there was Commons, there was Whiskora.

A Whiskora Patisserie dessert table at an early Commons gathering — marble pound cake under a glass cloche, flowers and a menu card.

Whiskora Patisserie began as a homegrown cloud kitchen with a simple intention: to create desserts that felt thoughtful, personal, and worth coming back for.

What started with cakes made from a home kitchen gradually grew into a recognisable local patisserie. Along the way came its first pop-up at Dusk, collaborations with Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop, a Valentine’s showcase at Prana Bar & Kitchen, festive hampers, celebration cakes, dessert collections, and countless orders that found their way into birthdays, anniversaries, offices, weddings, and everyday moments worth celebrating.

Whiskora also earned its trademark, a small but meaningful milestone for a brand that had begun at home.

But somewhere between the cakes, collaborations, pop-ups, and conversations with customers, something else was taking shape. We realised we weren’t only interested in creating things people could enjoy. We were interested in creating reasons for people to come together.

That thought eventually became Commons by Whiskora.

Commons took the warmth, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail that shaped Whiskora and translated it into experiences for women. What began as an idea has since grown into a curated community bringing women together through vision boarding, sport, conversations around money, shared tables, learning, and experiences designed simply to help people know one another better.

Whiskora taught us how something small, created with care, can grow through the people who believe in it.

Whiskora gave Commons its roots. Commons gave that idea a bigger table.
